About Ellen Thorpe
Ellen lives and works in beautiful North Wales, where her fascination with organic shapes and forms can be easily satisfied through walking and wild swimming. Her work is greatly inspired by the natural world, the growth of seeds and plants in particularly. Her current work is a stylised expression of these organic forms.
Ellen's silver jewellery is characterised by bold forms and intricate details hand-sawn into the metal, with a great patience and attention to detail. Her jewellery is hand finished to a high standard and made to last a lifetime.
All of the glass beads in Ellen's work are made in her workshop, allowing for a fine control over the colours and shapes, and allowing her to accept commissions for pieces in different colours and designs. She also teaches Lampworking lessons, where you can go and make your own glass beads for a day, and learn the intricacies of shaping and forming molten glass.
