Hello! My name's Ellen Thorpe and I'm a jeweller creating colourful silver and glass jewellery inspired by nature. Each piece is handmade and unique, and made in my workshop in beautiful Snowdonia, North Wales. I've been a jeweller for nine years, but have enjoyed making all my life.
I find inspiration from the stunning landscape of North Wales, which I love to explore, and the materials that I work with. Silver and glass have very different properties, silver is very forgiving and you can have complete control over the making process. Glass on the other hand is much more fluid and spontaneous, which creates wonderful organic forms.
Together they work beautifully, the shiny polish of the silver reflecting the beautiful colour and depth of the glass.

I love having the opportunity to learn more skills and techniques by making pieces that are out of my comfort zone. These metalwork commissions have all been very different to the jewellery that I make, so don't be afraid to ask me to make something unusual!
Unique Wedding Rings
I really enjoy working with couples and incorporating their ideas and inspirations to make them their perfect wedding or engagement rings! Why settle for a boring ring when you can have anything you can help design one yourself?
Glass Eyes
I recently discovered an amazing glass layering technique that creates this amazing texture, so couldn't help but have a go at making some glass eyes. They turned out to be a big hit, so I've created a collection of glass eye jewellery!
